About Plateau

Plateau, known locally as Platô, sits on the flat-topped rock that gives it its name, looking out over the Atlantic and the Santa Maria islet. This is the historic and administrative center of Praia, where Portuguese colonial buildings house ministries, banks and shops, and where the capital's restaurants and live-music venues cluster around Albuquerque Square. For investors it offers the most central, amenity-rich stock in the capital, with rental demand from government and business visitors. The caveats are real: Cape Verde's economy is small and import-dependent, financing for foreigners is limited, and most tourism capital flows to the beach islands of Sal and Boa Vista rather than Santiago.
